Smith-Cobb family collection, 1861-1968 1948-1965.

The Smith-Cobb Family Collection was acquired by gift in one transaction from donor Mrs. Mildred J. Rhambo in February 1973. At the time of donation the collection was contained in twenty-six boxes. The collection begins in 1861 with a prayer book that probably belonged to Stephen Cobb. The bulk of the collection is between 1948-1965, with the majority of the documents from Naomi Cobb and Ruby Smith Cobb. Documents include personal correspondence, financial papers, diverse literary productions, and large number of photographs present in this collection. The Literary Productions and Financial Documents series are the largest series in the collection.
